DEME Offshore has successfully completed the transport and installation of the topside of TenneT’s Hollandse Kust (noord) offshore wind farm. The 3,500-tonne topside, built by Smulders and EQUANS BeLux - Offshore division, was installed by DEME’s offshore installation vessel ‘Orion’. This is also the heaviest topside DEME has ever installed.
Orion’s versatility is clear – in less than six months this remarkable floating installation vessel has installed giant XXL monopiles, offshore substation jackets and topsides, carried out a major decommissioning project, and now it has seamlessly installed the Hollandse Kust (noord) topside.
